Who Would’ve Thought!?

The first post on a blog by Marnie – who would have thought?!

Join me as I look to see God’s light in my life and in my world, and attempt to reflect His presence through the written word.

The calling of my life is to write. The desire of my heart is to write. The sanity of my days is to write. But what writing to share? Sharing what I write is invigorating, and frightening. Yet I finally begin…

The calendar says I will be 55 this year. I thought I was still 16. Where did the time go?

The answer, of course, is that life happened. One moment at a time, my life filled with heartache, pain, joy, despondency, contentment, elation, confusion, lethargy, growth, adventure, and reflection. This blog is not meant to be a diary or a journal, though you will learn about me through the posts. This blog is a testament to God’s presence in my life – in your life. He is active in our world and in our individual situations.

Life can be depressing enough without looking into darkness – yet darkness is not to be feared. Dark times are safe as we take refuge under God’s wings (Matt 23:37, Ps 91:4). And God’s light shines brightest in the dark times. Life is not all black shadow, but it is not all sunshine and roses, either. So this is the right time, and this is the right place, for me to share where God was and is in my life.

I worship God, Creator of heaven and earth. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who is my salvation and who is become my salvation. I am a carrier of the Holy Spirit, who transforms me as I journey with God.

God is faithful. God is present. This blog is my response to God.

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. (Ps 26:7 KJV)
